Why I do this

I chose local business
on purpose.

"The local accountant who knew your name. The small firm that actually had time for you. These businesses deserve the same tools the big companies are building for themselves."

I have spent 20 years building enterprise software — managing teams across the US, UK, Australia, and India, shipping products used by thousands of businesses. I know what it looks like when technology is built for companies with big budgets and IT departments.

Running gave me something I did not expect: community. Finishing four marathons and fifteen half-marathons taught me what it feels like to be supported by people who show up for you. Performing at The Moth StorySLAM — and winning three times — taught me that the most powerful thing you can do is tell the truth in a room full of people.

Those experiences changed what I wanted to do with my work. Local professional service businesses are getting squeezed out — not because they lack talent or heart, but because the tools being built right now are designed for someone else. I have the experience to help. And I believe they deserve it.

🏢
Enterprise background — 20+ years at companies including Flexera, leading global product teams across four countries.
🏃
Marathon runner — 4 marathons including Chicago. 15 half-marathons. Community taught me what showing up really means.
🎤
3× Moth StorySLAM Champion — storytelling taught me to listen before I speak, and to lead with truth.
💻
Still writing code — a senior engineer who moved into AI consulting, not someone who discovered AI on YouTube.

Our Methodology

The AURA Way.

Every engagement follows the same structured sequence — from understanding the problem to delivering a running, tested system.

A
Acknowledge
Surface the operational problem quickly and clearly. We listen before we recommend anything.
U
Understand
Diagnose the root cause, not just the symptom. Most operational problems are not solved because they are not understood.
R
Recommend
Propose a tailored, justified approach. Not a generic solution. Not a platform you have to figure out yourself.
A
Automate
Implement reliable, maintainable automation confidently — and stay to make sure it runs.

Three ways to
work together.

Start where you are comfortable. Grow at your own pace.

🎓

Good for: Professional service firms taking their first steps with AI.
Format: In-person or remote. Per session or ongoing retainer.
Focus: Claude, Claude Desktop, Cowork, and practical workflow design.

Fit

Built for businesses
like yours.

This is for you if
You run a professional service business — accounting, legal, consulting, financial services
You have repetitive internal processes still handled manually
You have tried AI tools and were not sure what to do with them
You want someone who implements alongside you, not just advises
You are in the Chicagoland area or open to working remotely
This is not for you if
You want a chatbot installed in an afternoon with no follow-through
You are looking for a strategy deck rather than a working system
You have no team workflows or processes worth improving
You expect results without any engagement or collaboration

"We know we are behind on this — we just do not know where to start."

"We bought a tool. Nobody is actually using it."

"We are doing this manually because no one has had time to fix it."

About The AI Guy

The person
behind the work.

Rajneesh Sehgal has spent over 20 years building and leading enterprise software — including product development at Flexera, with engineering teams across the US, UK, Australia, and India. He still writes code today, though he reaches for AI tools more than he used to.

Outside work, he has run four marathons and fifteen half-marathons, and is a three-time Moth StorySLAM Champion. Those communities — and what they taught him about showing up for people — are the reason The AI Guy exists.

He lives in the Chicagoland area and works primarily with local professional service businesses: accountants, lawyers, consultants, and financial advisors who want to use AI without the hype or the complexity.

FAQ

Common questions.
Clear answers.

What does a typical project look like? +
We start with a conversation to understand your business and where you feel the most friction. From there I diagnose the gaps, design a practical automation plan, and implement it alongside your team. Most engagements take 2–6 weeks for the initial build, followed by ongoing monitoring and support.
How long does it take to see results? +
Most clients see meaningful time savings within the first two to three weeks of implementation. Simple automation — like missed-call follow-ups or email triage — can be live within days. More complex systems like BizMind take longer to configure but deliver compounding returns over time.
Do you use my data to train AI models? +
No. Your business data is used only to deliver your system. It is not used to train any AI model, shared with third parties, or retained beyond what is needed to run your implementation. Privacy and data ownership are core to how I build.
Can you run AI inside my environment? +
Yes. For businesses with sensitive data — medical, legal, financial — I can configure systems that run entirely on a private server with no cloud inference. BizMind supports optional in-house deployment on a private VPS. This is a genuine option, not a checkbox on a features list.
What does it cost? +
Consulting and training sessions are priced per session or as a monthly retainer. Inboxero and BizMind are available through the Founding Partner Program with pricing set to reflect early-stage access and long-term commitment. The right first step is a conversation — I will give you a straight answer on fit and cost before you commit to anything.
What happens after launch? +
I provide structured ongoing monitoring and support — not a handoff and goodbye. Most clients move to a maintenance retainer after the initial build, which covers updates, optimisations, and new workflow additions as the business evolves.
What is the Founding Partner Program? +
It is early access to Inboxero and BizMind for a small group of local businesses. Founding partners get direct product access, pricing that locks in permanently, and a direct line to me for feedback and support. Details are at inboxero.ai or reach out directly at raj@theaiguy.dev.
Do you offer training and workshops? +
Yes. If your team needs to get comfortable with AI tools — particularly Claude and Claude Desktop — I offer hands-on sessions designed for non-technical business owners. These run in-person in Chicagoland or remotely, and are priced per session or as a retainer. This is one of the best places to start.
